Review: ThredUP.com - Toddler Attire

Today's review is about a recent experience and purchase with the online company thredUP.  My sister in law sent me a coupon code and since I have some many little cuties to dress, I just had to check it out for myself.

thredUP.com is an online consignment shop where you can buy and sell high quality clothing for the whole family.

My first impression of the website: clean, modern, well displayed and looked professional.  I liked it right away and was very excited about shopping there.  I was in the market for dresses and pajamas for my twin girls.  We're big pajama people around here!

I found the girls dresses easily enough but was disappointed to see there were no pjs for little ones on the site.  Too bad...  I was able to filter the dresses down by size, color, brand, or price.  Although, there was no way to find causal, formal, sleeveless, etc.  Therefore, just searching for size 3T dresses left me with over 800 dresses and 35 pages to sift through.  So I began scrolling and clicking and scrolling and clicking.  I could have narrowed it down by brand name or color but I wanted to see what was newly listed first.  The pictures were bright and displayed the dresses well.

By about page 10 or so, I had found 6 "coordinating" dresses for my girls.  They are twins, after all!  I was very happy with the price, condition, and brand name of the dresses.  All very adorable!

I was able to find a Baby Gap Dress, a Jumping Beans Dress, 2 Gymboree Dresses, and 2 Carter's Dresses we liked.  I even managed to find 2 tops for myself.  Once I applied the coupon code I had, the total was $42.87 with free shipping.  According to their prices, I saved 71% (165.08) off retail.  That's $5.35 per piece.  Pretty incredible for 8 items of clothing!

A few days later, I received an email from my financial institution regarding a refund from thredup.  Confused, I logged on to see what was going on.  Seems like one of the dresses had been cancelled on me with no explanation or email from thredup.  I tried calling them to see if there was something we could do to replace the dress but all I got was voicemail, so I left a message.  I knew my package would be shipped out soon and wanted to get this taken care of quickly.  No return phone call.

My green box of clothing arrived 6 business days later.  The clothes were package nicely, smelled fresh and were in excellent condition as stated.  We will get lots of wear out of these dresses.  One of the dresses, I believe, is actually a top because it is very short but looks great with shorts.  The only mention of the missing dress was the word "unavailable" written on my invoice.  No big deal but I would have preferred better communication or another option.  Also, I was told upon check out, I would receive a "complimentary green bag" to send them clothes to sell and I didn't.  Again, no big deal and I'm sure they would have sent me one if I had let them know it was missing.

All in all, I would highly recommend this site to anyone in the market for quality clothes at fantastic prices all in one place.  We live in the middle of no where and I do not have easy access to consignment shops and thrift stores so I'm a big online shopper.  Not to mention, to find these dresses out in town would be much harder if not impossible than hand picking them from my ipad in my living room one evening.  My tops were fantastic as well at an unbelievable price!

I can't comment on what it is like to sell through them but they have a really informative section on their site explaining in detail how it works, what the fees are, etc.  They even have a scrolling graph showing current consignors and what they have earned.

Love coupon codes, search for one before you check out if you don't have one already or post it below for others! They also have a refer a friend program where you both get $10, very nice for everyone! Win, win!
