DIY: Create Your Own Word Cloud Collage

Ever see those really awesome word collages and think, I want one of those... well, today I want to revisit one of my most favorite websites and tools:  www.Tagxedo.com

Tagxedo turns words -- "famous speeches, news articles, slogans and themes, even your love letters -- into a visually stunning word cloud, words individually sized appropriately to highlight the frequencies of occurrence within the body of text."

You can pretty much take any words you want and turn them into a shape of your choice with colors you love!  Completely customizable!  You can even upload a URL and the program will scan the site and make a collage of the words on the site.  It's pretty amazing!

Here's the customization form using 600 words.  You can have between 50 - 600 words in a word cloud.  There are great fonts and lots of shapes and you can even upload your own if you want!  The best thing to do is just experiment with the different settings to get the layout you want.  Respining the "Layout" option with rearrange your words without changing anything else.  Useful if your trying to get a certain arrangement.

Once you "respin" the cloud to get the effect you want and it will save your past "spins" under history.  Very handy if you change your mind about something and want to go back.  Some of the examples on the site are so elaborate.  You can even fall in love with premade word clouds.

Once your completely elated with our work of art, you can save it up to 16MP, that's HUGE...like poster size huge!  This program is really incredible and fun!  The possibilities are endless and I could just make word clouds all night but I'd probably get dizzy.  The designer of the program has a list of 101 ways to use Tagxedo.  Where to start with that!?!  Blog it, pin it, love it.  There's three!

Let me know if you tried Tagxedo and if you loved it!
